For more than three decades, Aurelio has immersed himself in the world of sound through research, experimentation, performances, and educational initiatives. He describes himself as a listening soul, following mysterious song-lines into unknown territories.
Born in Austria, he studied linguistics and ethnomusicology before embarking on a five-year journey around the world, living with indigenous communities across several continents. These experiences profoundly shaped his understanding of music and consciousness, harmonic science, and the healing power of sound.
Aurelio is based in Auroville, South India, where he founded the Mohanam Cultural Centre and, in 2003, established SVARAM.
His life’s work embodies an ongoing exploration of listening as both an art and a path of transformation.
